Milestones

We've been very busy lately (so that's my excuse for not blogging in awhile...) The kids have been hitting some major milestones.

PARKER
Tonight Parker sat on the potty before bathtime, which has become his routine since we are slowly easing in to "Potty Learning." But tonight, for the first time, HE PEED IN THE POTTY! YAY Parker. We were very excited and congratulated him thoroughly. I said, "I'm proud of you!" And for the rest of the evening he would look at me and beam and say, "I'm very proud of you!"

Also, today at playgroup at our friend Brandy's house, Parker learned how to put on his jacket all by himself! I'd been trying to teach him how to do itfor awhile now, but he had no patience for learning it from me. So, today wee got his friend Ephraim to show him how he does it. Parker was able to do it right away and is so excited. When Justin got home from work Parker immediately had to show him how he can put his jacket on all by himself!

Parker also harvested the first pumpkin from his pumpkin patch. This is truly his pumpkin. He picked out the seeds last summer when we were at the hardware store. He planted them himself. He helped me water them all summer. He said he wants to make a pie out of his pumpkin, so that is what we will do next weekend.

Also tonight, Parker sang the ABC's to Kennedy and did really well! he only missed a few, but kept right on going! "ABCDEFG-HIJKLMNOP-QRS-TUV-WX-Y and Z. Now I know my ABCs. Next time won't you sing with me!"

KENNEDY
Tonight Kennedy pulled herself up from sitting to standing all by herself while we were playing in her room. She's been getting better and better at sitting over the last few weeks. She can sit and play intently with a toy for a good 15-20 minutes (if she doesn't get tackled by her big brother...)

Kennedy is also working on some new teeth. She has her front bottom two and the top front two are starting to come.

JEN
I finished knitting my first sweater! I knitted a pink sweater for Kennedy out of Malabrigo Kettle-Dyed 100% Merino Wool in their "Little Lovely" colorway. It turned out gorgeous, if I do say so myself! I'm working on a pair of longies for Kennedy next.

I've also begun studying to be a La Leche League Leader and have been getting more involved with our local group. I'm working on a logo design for the 2008 Conference. So, every few nights I'm studying the LLL texts and preparing for that.

JUSTIN
Justin recently celebrated his 33rd Birthday! "Happy Birthday to You" and is trucking along on his Van Halen tribute cross-stitch project.
